Matt Lauer reportedly apologized to former “Today” intern Mark Zinni after he tweeted that Lauer was “not so nice,” according to a Friday report.
Yahoo.com reported that on Tuesday, Zinni tweeted, “I was just a young kid with a bright future ahead of me,” adding that Lauer was “not so nice.”
According to the report, Lauer responded to Zinni the next day by tweeting, “huh? Always tried to be nice Mark. Sorry you didn’t think so. Hope you’re doing well. Matt.”
Zinni reportedly intern at “Today” in 1997 and is now an anchor at Cleveland’s Fox affiliate station.
Yahoo reported that Zinni said he was just being “honest” about Lauer, but added that he was “shocked” and “flattered” that Lauer tweeted him back and remembered him.
