El Paso police said actor Sherman Hemsley has died at his home at the age of 74, according to a Tuesday report.
TMZ said ‘The Jeffersons’ actor appears to have died of natural causes, though no formal statements have been released.
The website also reports that a nurse who came to check on him thought him to be sleeping, but called for help after realizing what had happened.
Hemsley was also reportedly famous for his other roles on ‘All in the Family’ and ‘Amen,’ as well as for his 1989 musical single, ‘Ain’t That a Kick in the Head.’
Hemsley was not married and had no children, but lived in El Paso, Texas, according to TMZ.
