ST. PETERSBURG, FL - An embarrassed Carly Rae Jepsen threw possibly the “worst ever” ceremonial first pitch in MLB history at Sunday’s Tampa Bay game against the Houston Astros.
The “Call Me Maybe” singer wound up for the pitch and threw the ball straight onto the ground, just a few feet in front of her.
After mouthing, “Oh my,” the 27-year-old threw her arms up in embarrassment and ran up to catcher to apologize.
According to Fox Sports’ announcers, the singer was throwing strike after strike during practice, but she really “dropped the ball” when it came to the real thing.
