Andy Samberg is skipping across the pond for a new gig.
The actor/comedian, who just made his exit from "Saturday Night Live" official earlier this month, has signed on to star in a new BBC sitcom called "Cuckoo."
Samberg plays the titular character, a "self-appointed spiritual ninja" who marries into a British family. Cuckoo is supposed to be as kooky as his name, an American "slacker full of outlandish, New Age ideas" who drives his wife's dad Ken, played by Brit comedian Greg Davies, up a wall, according to a statement.
The six-part series is expected to begin production this summer to air on BBC Three later this year.
Executive producer Ash Atalla has high hopes for the comedy, saying in a statement that "The best of British meets the toast of Hollywood" with this new show.
"We hope 'Cuckoo' cements the special relationship between our two great countries," Atalla said. "I imagine Obama and Cameron will be watching closely."
