SIDEWAYS star VIRGINIA MADSEN and REBECCA DeMORNAY are to battle it out as feuding family matriarchs in an updated version of KEVIN COSTNER's TV hit HATFIELDS & McCOYS.
Costner faced off with Bill Paxton in last year's (12) award winning period drama, which chronicled the bitter blood feud between two post-American Civil War families - and now the saga has been brought up to date for a new TV series.
Set in present-day Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the two families will battle for power of the city in the new drama.
DeMornay will play the head of the well-to-do Hatfields, while Madsen is down to play her rival Eloise McCoy.
Nick Westrate and Sophia Bush will play younger members of the families.
Charlize Theron is among the producers of the drama.
