TAYLOR SWIFT is set for an awkward encounter with the famous family of her new ex-boyfriend CONOR KENNEDY in December (12) - she's due to be honored at their upcoming Ripple of Hope Awards Dinner in New York.
Reports emerged on Thursday (25Oct12) suggesting the unlucky-in-love country singer had ended her summer (12) romance with 18-year-old Conor, the grandnephew of assassinated President John F. Kennedy, due to her busy work schedule.
But the split must have come as a surprise to Conor's aunt Kerry Kennedy - she announced on Thursday that Swift will be the guest of honor at the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights' 2012 gala, according to the New York Post's Page Six column.
Human rights activist Vincent A. Mai will also be feted at the 3 December (12) event, which will be hosted by Alec Baldwin.
