Colombian superstar SHAKIRA has announced she is pregnant.
The Hips Don't Lie hitmaker took to her Facebook.com page on Wednesday (19Sep12) to confirm reports she is expecting a baby with her boyfriend, Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique.
She writes, "As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby! At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days... I’d like to thank... my fans for their constant love and understanding."
The singer is pulling out of her scheduled performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas this weekend (21-22Sep12).
The baby announcement comes just two days after Shakira was unveiled as a new judge/coach on U.S. TV talent show The Voice.
She will replace Christina Aguilera in the upcoming fourth series, which is set for next spring (13).
