Singer NICOLE SCHERZINGER has opened up about her departure from U.S. TV talent show THE X FACTOR, insisting she gave the job "110 per cent" effort and has "no regrets".

The former Pussycat Dolls star stepped in to replace Cheryl Cole after the British singer was booted from the judging panel last year (11), but she has been axed from the line-up along with Paula Abdul and host Steve Jones ahead of the second season.

Scherzinger has now spoken for the first time about her exit from Simon Cowell's show, revealing she doesn't know why she lost the job but is glad she gave it a go.

She tells Access Hollywood, "What happened? Well, all I know is that I gave 110 per cent to that show. I don't know. I know everybody's talking about it. They're saying good, bad, they love me or hate me, but the one thing you can't say is that I didn't give it my all...

"I had a wonderful experience on the show. I loved being a part of my X Factor family. Nothing could obviously prepare me for everything I had to go through, all the emotions and stuff, but I have no regrets. I've always believed in never looking back and just moving forward and I've got an amazing year to look forward to."
