British royals PRINCE WILLIAM and PRINCE HARRY were shocked to see their grandmother QUEEN ELIZABETH II starring in a JAMES BOND-themed video with DANIEL CRAIG during the London Olympics opening ceremony.

The Queen featured in a pre-recorded sketch showing her leaving Buckingham Palace with 007 and flying to the Olympic Stadium by helicopter before appearing to parachute into the venue last month (27Jul12).

The monarch's involvement, like many of the details of the opening ceremony, was kept a closely guarded secret and even her grandsons were surprised by her acting debut, despite hearing rumors about her cameo on the big night.

A delighted Harry tells the BBC, "Both of us were slightly surprised with our grandmother's secret hobby that she had of parachuting, which went down unbelievable well (with viewers)... You don't expect the Queen to do something like that."

Prince William adds, "We were kept completely in the dark about it, that's how big the secret was."
