Miley Cyrus surprises dad on Broadway

MILEY CYRUS jetted into New York to surprise her dad Billy Ray at a showing of his Broadway musical CHICAGO on Sunday (18Nov12).

The singer and her siblings Brandi, Braison and Noah turned up unannounced at the Ambassador Theater, where their country star dad is currently playing Billy Flynn in the hit production.

The Cyruses, including Miley's mom Tish, posed for family pictures backstage, and Billy Ray admits it was a treat to be reunited with his loved ones.

Billy Ray tells Entertainment Tonight, "It was awesome. This was a great surprise, it's been almost three months since I've seen my family. I left California, I went and finished the album, then I spent a couple of weeks finishing my book. Then I went straight into filming this new pilot, called Still The King - that took a few weeks. Then I headed straight up to New York and began rehearsals for this. It's just been a blur, but it was a great surprise, a great way to start off Thanksgiving."

Cyrus wraps up his Chicago stint on 23 December (12).
