Actor JAMES FRANCO is hoping to spot his grandmother in new movie OZ THE GREAT & POWERFUL after helping her land a small role in the film.

His Grandma Mitz visited Franco on the set of the fantasy film in Detroit, Michigan and he got her to work as an extra, but he's still not sure if the scene in which she features made it to the finished cut.

He explains, "She was dressed as one of the townspeople in Glinda's kingdom... I'm hoping (she's still in the film)."

And the actor's grandmother, who joined Franco on U.S. late night show Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday (13Feb13) said, "I've got my fingers crossed."
