Diane Lane's ex-husband saddened by Josh Brolin split

DIANE LANE's first husband CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT has reached out to the actress in the aftermath of her split from JOSH BROLIN, calling the break-up "a sad story".
The Unfaithful star separated from her actor husband late last year (12) and she filed for divorce earlier this month (Feb13).
Lane was previously married to actor Lambert, the father of her daughter Eleanor, and he has now offered his sympathies after the split news.
He tells the New York Daily News, "Diane and myself really stayed the best of friends, and so I wish her the best on a heart level. If she needs me, I'm here. It's a sad story. It's sad news, but you know sometimes things come to an end, but I am here for her.
"I wish her really, really the best possible because she is a great woman, great mother, great actress."
Lane and Lambert divorced in 1994 and she went on to marry Brolin in 2004.
