Christmas has come early for BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN and ALABAMA SHAKES - the two acts have topped music bible Rolling Stone's Best Albums and Best Songs of the year lists.

Springsteen's Wrecking Ball beat Frank Ocean's Channel Orange to the top of the 2012 albums list, while Brittany Howard's acclaimed band, which picked up a Best New Artist Grammy nod on Wednesday (05Dec12), pipped Taylor Swift (We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together) to the number one spot on the songs countdown with Hold On.

Also making the albums top five are Jack White's Blunderbuss, Bob Dylan's Tempest and The Idler Wheel... by Fiona Apple, while Passion Pit's Take a Walk, Thinkin' 'Bout You by Frank Ocean, and Neil Young and Crazy Horse's Ramada Inn complete the Best Songs top five.
