BARBRA STREISAND is to be honored at the 40th annual Chaplin Award Gala in April (13).
The actress/singer will be saluted by the Film Society of Lincoln Center at the event in New York.
Announcing the latest Chaplin Award recipient, Film Society chairman Ann Tenenbaum says, "She (Streisand) is an artist whose long career of incomparable achievements is most powerfully expressed by the fact that her acclaimed (film) Yentl was such a milestone film.
"We welcome her to the list of masterful directors who have been prior recipients of the Chaplin Award Tribute."
The Film Society's annual gala began in 1972 and honored Charlie Chaplin, who returned to the U.S. from exile to accept the accolade. The award was renamed for Chaplin, and has honored the likes of Alfred Hitchcock, Laurence Olivier, Elizabeth Taylor, James Stewart and Meryl Streep.
