MaryEllen Resendez is a Multimedia Journalist for ABC15 News.
An Emmy award-winning reporter, she first joined the ABC15 family in January of 1998 as the weekend anchor.
MaryEllen brings a wealth of experience to the ABC15 team.
Before moving to Arizona, MaryEllen lived and worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor in Atlanta, Georgia.
She spent years covering lead and breaking news stories for WAGA-TV, including events surrounding the 1996 Olympic bombing.
She also worked as a weekend anchor/reporter in Fresno, California, and began her career on the assignment desk in Portland, Oregon.
MaryEllen grew up in the Pacific Northwest with her five brothers and sisters. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, specializing in both broadcast journalism and television production from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington.
Her passion for news and writing came at the age of 13 when MaryEllen was enrolled in journalism because her first choice elective courses were full.
Her father still remembers her sitting on the family's front steps writing stories just for fun.
MaryEllen didn't expect to settle in Phoenix, but fell in love with the desert, the heat and her great neighborhood.
When she isn't live on the scene, MaryEllen spends her free time keeping up with her two young boys and husband. She loves working with children and teaches religious education at her church.
