Laura Thomas is a meteorologist and multimedia journalist for ABC15 News.
She joined the ABC15 Forecasters team in June 2013 after spending several years working in Texas.
Laura graduated from Texas Tech University with a communications degree and minor in atmospheric science. She also obtained her Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
Laura started her television career in Lubbock, Texas as weekend weather forecaster at KLBK-TV, followed by 5 years as Chief Meteorologist at KJTV-TV.
Thomas later made the move to morning meteorologist at KDAF-TV in Dallas, Texas, providing weather coverage not just for the local Dallas market, but also Houston, Philadelphia, Miami, Portland and Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Throughout the years, she’s also assisted multiple radio stations, served on Lubbock’s NWS Storm Ready Board and in 2012, partnered with the Dallas Morning News to provide daily weathercasts for their flagship website.
Laura is very happy to call Arizona home. She looks forward to exploring what the beautiful southwest has to offer. During her downtime, you can find her enjoying time with her family and friends, reading a good book by the pool, getting a run in or just relaxing at home watching a movie.
