Dan Spindle co-anchor ABC15 Mornings on weekdays from 4:30am to 7am. He also anchors ABC15 News at 11am.
Dan joined the ABC15 News team in March 2013, but has been a familiar face in Arizona television news for years.
In his life, Dan has lived in every corner of the country, and even South America, but he'll tell you the desert has always felt like home.
Dan graduated from Willcox High School in southeast Arizona. He then attended The Film School at Scottsdale Community College where he earned a degree in Motion Picture/TV Production.
During his time as an “Artichoke,” he started his television news career as a producer. He also attended the University of Arizona and earned his B.S. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from New York Institute of Technology.
Dan landed his first on-air job at KOBI-TV in Medford, Oregon as a weekend newscast anchor. He loved covering stories in the beautiful Rogue River Valley, but soon got the call to come home to Arizona as a weekend anchor at KGUN-TV in Tucson. Dan covered stories ranging from border issues and drug cartel violence to Gabby Giffords’ campaign for U.S. Congress. He also reported for a weekly consumer franchise called “Does it Work”.
Most recently, Dan reported for KSAZ-TV in Phoenix and anchored the station's weekend morning news. He's also recently gone home to Scottsdale Community College as an instructor, teaching courses in television and radio fundamentals.
When he’s not working, Dan loves exploring the mountains and the deserts of our beautiful state.
Dan will tell you he's somewhat of a history nerd and a movie buff, but loves playing basketball and tennis to stay active.
Being a part of the ABC15 family is a dream come true for the Spindles. Dan’s wife Kendra is an Arizona native and they love raising their five kids so close to friends and family.
