Connie Colla, a familiar face in Arizona for over a decade, is an Emmy-award winning host and an anchor for ABC15 Daybreak weekdays between 4:30 a.m. and 7 a.m.
She left the Valley back in 1995 at the height of her career as co-anchor of the Valley’s number one morning show at KPNX and host of a popular radio show for Variety 104.7.
It was a move she didn’t see coming: “The Ron and Connie Show was so fun I just never imagined I would do anything else, but NBC called and asked me to help build their new morning show at WCAU-NBC10 in Philly. It was a huge opportunity and I love the building process so I had to go.”
After helping bring “News 10 Today” to a strong second in the market, Colla took a break to spend time with her first child, Sophia, in 2000.
Before long, she was back at work for Comcast, the nation's largest cable and internet provider, anchoring their primetime news and a magazine show called “CN8 Extra”.
In 2007, she was promoted to a management position and took on the role of Managing Editor and Host of “Your Morning” on CN8, The Comcast Network.
She was also a frequent host for the Gourmet Cooking Show “The Fretz Kitchen”, and hosted “Vision Builders”, a home renovation show. She has also created several franchise segments including “Connie in the Kitchen”, “In the Garden”, and “If the Shoe Fits”.
On the corporate side, Connie hosted the monthly and quarterly company wide in-house business shows: “Comcast Live” and “Leadership Link”. Connie is also a private Corporate Executive Coach and has taught classes at Comcast University’s Elite Executive Leadership Forum.
In her free time, Connie and her husband Dave love to remodel homes. To date they have renovated 6 homes, four outside Philadelphia, one at the Jersey Shore and their current home in Scottsdale.
Connie started her career in her hometown of Great Falls, Montana, at KTGF-TV.
Connie is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) and a Board Member for The Associated Services for the Blind.
Much of her charity work focuses on women and children. She has spent several years as a host of "The Children's Miracle Network Celebration" for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Her work as a producer on that project with CMN received an Emmy.
Connie was born and raised in the "Big Sky Country" of Great Falls, Montana and is a graduate of Montana State University.
She and her husband have two children and a crazy dog named Buddy Love.
