The ABC15 Investigators are raising new questions about a local breast cancer charity.
Pink is powerful when it comes to charitable giving, but where that money goes is often the most important question.
After hearing from a Phoenix woman earlier in the year with questions about Valley-based Breast Cancer Society, we started digging.
The charity claims to use more than 75% of donations for program activities, and they recorded $100 million in donations during the last 2 years.
However, after paying for fundraisers, employees and after subtracting millions in medicines they claim to donate to foreign countries, charity watchdogs say just 10% of their donations actually go to programs.
When we asked the charity for receipts to back up some of these costs, we couldn't even get what we asked for.
We're talking with the charity CEO as part of the full investigation TUESDAY at 10pm on ABC15 News.
