Who: Arthritis Foundation presents Oscar Experience: Phoenix in partnership with ABC15, Francis Ford Coppola Winery, Gila River Gaming Enterprises, Harkins Theatre, Hedley Orthopaedic Institute, Rolfs, Wells Fargo and Young’s Market Company.

What: Oscar ® Experience: Phoenix Gala will raise money and awareness to further the mission of the Arthritis Foundation to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases. Funds will support research, advocacy, awareness, community programs, reaching underserved populations, sending children with arthritis to camp, and so much more. 

When:  Sunday, February 24, 2013, Red Carpet Arrival at 4:30 pm

Why: An evening of Oscar ® to support our fight against arthritis on behalf of the 1.2 million Arizonans, including 6,000 children, living with arthritis.       

The Arthritis Foundation will be honoring Dr. Anthony Hedley, MD; Krista Hom, and Rowan Balma. Hedley, an orthopaedic surgeon with Hedley Orthopaedic Institute, has an unwavering commitment to help patients with arthritis and related diseases. Hom has been living with Rheumatoid Arthritis her entire life and wants a cure. Her grandfather and mother had RA and Hom and her sister were diagnosed with RA in 2004.  Rowan Balma, age 4, has Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.  Rowan’s brother, Noah Balma, asks “I love her very much, so do you think you can help her? I like playing with her, but sometimes it’s hard for her. Also, please ask your friends for support. Thank you.”
