The City of Peoria is proud to announce FIESTA PEORIA 2013.
Fiesta Peoria is an annual multicultural signature event for the City of Peoria that coincides with Hispanic Heritage month.
In its second year, Fiesta Peoria proceeds will benefit the non-profit organization, United Peoria Foundation. The foundation provides community funds to assist residents with utility bills, high school sports sponsorships, and assistance in higher education.
“I welcome everyone to join us in celebrating Fiesta Peoria 2013. Fiesta Peoria is a family festival that welcomes the entire community to come together and celebrate our diversity” said Vice Mayor Tony Rivero.
Festival attendees can look forward to two days of family-fun-filled activities, national and local live musical entertainment, kids' party zone, great food booth, and a two-day Soccer and HSA Softball tournament. Over 30 soccer and 50 softball teams from around the region will compete at Pioneer Park, Peoria’s new 80-acre park with four lighted multi-purpose fields and six lighted ball fields. Families may enjoy the five-acre lake with catch-and-keep fishing, picnic ramadas, playground/swing sets, splash pad and dog park.
Saturday’s festival musical headliner is Grammy Award Winner Sunny Ozuna and the Sunliners playing five decades of Spanish/Tejano, and Latin R&B music. Also performing Saturday is national recording artist, Mr. Oogum Boogum himself, Brenton Wood , and Latin Rock group El Chicano . Sunday’s musical headliner is Funk, Reggae Jazz, and R&B musical artist WAR .
