GILA RIVER RESERVATION, AZ -- Authorities say a section of freeway just south of the Valley was closed after a fuel tanker hit some debris, puncturing its tanks.

According to the Department of Public Safety, eastbound traffic was diverted off Interstate 10 at Wild Horse Pass.

At 7:30 p.m. Air15 video showed that the freeway has reopened and traffic is moving freely.

The fuel truck could be seen stopped on the shoulder of the freeway with sand poured across the freeway lanes.

DPS says the fuel spill has been cleaned up.
