PHOENIX – To keep a key section of the Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) widening project in Phoenix on schedule, despite anticipated rain later in the weekend, planned restrictions near the State Route 51 junction have been advanced to Saturday (March 6).

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, eastbound Loop 202 will now be narrowed to two lanes between 24th and 32nd streets from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday while crews add a section of concrete pavement in the area. The southbound State Route 51 and westbound I-10 ramps to eastbound Loop 202 also will be closed at those times. The restrictions were moved from Sunday evening while crews work to reopen the eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at 24th Street by March 19.
