drivers don't keep their eyes on the road any other time of the year, so why would they do it on the 4th?

They forgot one of the most obvious distractions: HANG UP THE FREAKIN' CELL PHONE! and drive, fool.

I'll stay home and watch it on the tube. Why sit around for hours sweating, trying to keep whiney kids away, getting skeeter bit, and just plain stressed when I can relax unharmed with a nice drink, munchies, got my woman snuggling in a safe cooled down comfortable room. And I haven't even started the fireworks yet.
