PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Transportation says it has saved $56 million in the bid process for projects funded by stimulus money as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
That makes way for nine additional projects to be funded by economic recovery dollars.

2) I-17: Table Mesa traffic interchange to Rock Springs traffic interchange in Maricopa County (safety fence replacement)
3) I-10: Rita Road to Houghton Road in Pima County (pavement preservation)
4) I-40: Dead River Bridge in Apache County (rehabilitation and reconstruction)
5) US 60: Miami city limits to McMillan Wash in Gila County (pavement preservation)

The full details of the cost savings and the project will be presented at the State Transportation Board's regular monthly meeting at 9 a.m. June 19 at the Cottonwood Public Safety Building, 199 S. Sixth Street in Cottonwood.
Local officials and community members will have an opportunity to address the board during the meeting.
