I agree with 35th Ave. That crossing has had a total of 78 accidents since accidents were recorded back in 1975. I don't agree with the Garland crossing in Bellemont though. There has only been one accident total, that happened back in 1995, and there weren't even any injuries or deaths. There are tons more crossings that have had more accidents than Garland.

Most of what I wanted to say has already been said. But I wonder why people refuse to accept responsibility for their own actions. When you drive YOU are responsible. Not the railroad, not the government. YOU.

The intersection at 35th and Grand is very tricky-if you are trying to access from Indian School. There are multiple tracks, with no guard rail to hold back traffic if the train comes, and if you stop behind all the tracks, people will come up behind you and go around you. There is a large area between the corner and where the tracks start, so people stop there for a red light. Traffic will fill in, and all of a sudden, a locomotive will start up from being parked, and I've seen cars caught in the area. The engineers will not wait for traffic to clear (and shouldn't have to, since people shouldn't park on the tracks). People will park on the tracks, intending to turn right on a red light, waiting for traffic to clear, but depending on what time of day it is, or how traffic is flowing, they get stuck. There is also a large population of homeless people living near the overpass on Indianschool. I wonder if any of them have ever wandered onto the tracks and been hit.

Damn Dutch! You stole my line. OK, I'll make a new one up. HMMM........how about "improving the gene pool" ?

It's called Thinning the herd. If someone is THAT STUPID as to park or stop on the tracks, THEY NEED TO BE ELIMINATED!! It's called using your brain. You cant and shouldnt continue to protect people from themselves.
