We all want to look good, but while we’re all taking a hard look at our finances, most of us are cutting out the non-essentials.

But, looking good doesn’t have to cost a lot. There are plenty of ways to maximize your dollar.

One place you may not think to shop are the outlet stores, and you don’t have to travel far to get to them, there are some right here in the Valley.

They are a great place to find both quality and style at a lower price.

“Our everyday discounts are 30-70 percent so shoppers will find they can spend less and get greater value without having to sacrifice style,” said Outlets at Anthem Shopping Gal Allison Friedrichs.

“Actually, this is one place where you can find significant savings by shopping at high-end stores like Calvin Klein, Banana Republic and BCBGMAXAZRIA,” she added. Outlets at Anthem also features J. Crew, Karen Kane and Columbia Sportswear.

Friedrichs provides fashion advice, answers questions on colors, trends and hot looks and helps consumers with ideas for gifts and merchandise and the Outlets at Anthem stores in which to find them.

For details on fashion trends, Outlets at Anthem fashion finds, upcoming events and sales and new arrivals, follow her on Twitter.

To maximize your savings at Outlets at Anthem, Friedrichs recommends these 5 tips.

1. Stop at the customer service desk to pick up a Preferred Customer Card for additional discounts and offers. Check the outlet center’s Web site for weekly and monthly specials.

2. Think comfort. It’s going to be a long day, so wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Plan to avoid crowds and the heat by arriving early or late in the day. Consider shopping midweek when there are fewer customers so you won’t be battling crowds all day.

3. When looking for the best deals, think front and back. The best sale and bargain items will be featured prominently up front or in the back of the store.

4. Don’t be intimidated by high-end stores. Just because it cost a lot originally, doesn’t mean it you won’t find it at significant discounts in the outlets.

5. Plan for a long day and take breaks. Once you’re there, you’ll want to take advantage of as many stores as possible so make sure you plan to be there all day. You’ll also want to locate the food pavilion and snack options so you can schedule your food stops throughout the day.

Outlets at Anthem has 80 stores offering men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, bath products, electronics, kitchenware, and gourmet and specialty foods. Recently, the center unveiled a new wing offering a variety of upscale shops.

To reach Outlets at Anthem, take Interstate 17 north and exit at Anthem Way, exit 229. It is 10 minutes north of the Loop 101. Hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 623-465-9500.
