It's no secret that our society has very definite and often rigid expectations about what defines femininity. Lilly Norman of
Anastasia's Bath, Body, Boudoir proves that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes with tips on how women can celebrate their feminine form and feel comfortable in their own skin with the right lingerie and intimate apparel.
1. Proper fit -
The back panel should be wide and run parallel to the floor, sit below the shoulder blades and be snug when fastened.
A proper fitting band will support the breasts; do not rely on the straps to support the breasts since they are designed to support less than 10 percent of the breast weight.
The straps should be snug but still comfortable and should stay in place. If the straps fall, try a bra with straps designed closer together, or try a smaller cup size.
The underwire should lie within the breast crease at the base of each breast. The wires should encircle each breast and remain in place. If wires are protruding into the underarm try a smaller cup size or a smaller design such as a demi cup. If the underwire does not lie against the chest bones, try a bigger cup size.
Any breast tissue located at the outer sides of the each breast is pulled forward and fits into the bra cup. This may require a larger cup size. However, keep in mind that some women with a great deal of breast tissue at the sides cannot wear an underwire bra comfortably.
