Looking to build a fabulous, flexible and timeless wardrobe?
Scottsdale style guru,
Jeane B., has three keys to creating a stylish and simple wardrobe plan:
1. Build foundation pieces in two to three basic neutrals. Foundation pieces are suits, pants, jackets, skirts, coats, shorts and shoes.
2. Build accent pieces in five to ten basic colors. Accent pieces are tops, t-shirts, bodysuits and accessories such as scarves and jewelry.
The more muted the colors you choose, such as peach, banana, caladon, busty rose or storm blue, the more easily you can mix and match them with basic neutrals.
3. Be cautious in your use of bright colors.
Colors such as chrome yellow, emerald green and cobalt blue are exciting and vibrant, but often trendy and easily remembered.
You and others will tire of them quickly. If you must have a bright color as a long-term foundation color, choose a medium turquoise or great shade of red.
They rarely look dated, and complement a variety of skin, eye and hair colors.
