This fall when it comes to fashion, designers seem to be relating to the economy by keeping the styles similar to last year.

Instead of switching out your wardrobe, add a few key pieces and play with your makeup. It’s a more affordable option.

There are five key trends to keep in mind when testing the waters this fall. We went to Diane Aiello, owner of Glam Lounge, for a little ‘how to’ knowledge.

Red Lips

The classic red lips is back in a big way for fall ‘09.

To recreate this look, Aiello says you should wear it matte or topped with a bit of clear gloss in the center of the lip. She adds, deep velvety reds are a big favorite but bright berry tones are definitely a go to color for those that are shy about going full on crimson.

To keep the look from being dated, Aiello says, always match your liner to your lip color and be sure to blend the line with a lip brush before adding lipstick to avoid a harsh look.

Tip: Pair red lips with soft neutral eyes, a hint of black eyeliner and two thin coats of mascara for the most modern look.
