Forget New York, Paris and Milan, this fall fashion is all about Moscow!
Top designers have all incorporated ornate, Russian-inspired trends from fur accents everywhere to embroidered jackets and tall boots with intricate tassels.
The season's make-up trends have followed suit and can be an equally fun - and easier on your wallet - way to play with the season's hottest trend.
Marcus Monson,
Guerlain's National Makeup Artist, has tips on how incorporate some Russian beauty into your fall make-up routin
Monson says complexions are fresh, glowing and downright radiant this season.
He goes on to say, the fairer skinned among us can rejoice because pale is in but with a subtle luminosity.
Imagine strolling through Saint Petersburg on a crisp fall day with bright skin and soft pink cheeks; Monson says that's the exact effect we're trying to replicate this season.
His advice, stay away from foundations that mattify your skin, "I have many women ask me to use a matte foundation to cover fine lines but I always tell them the dull finish can really age skin."
Monson says look for foundation formulas that have reflective properties to catch the light and create a flattering effect on your skin and mix the formula with a moisturizer to get the right amount of coverage for your skin.
According to Monson, the best way to capture that natural rosy glow that our cheeks get on a cold day is with a liquid or gel blush that will melt into the skin, blend more easily and give a natural pink shade that looks like it's radiating from within.
Monson says, use your fingers to tap the blush into the apples of your cheeks when you are smiling, working from the outside inward toward the nose.
Be sure to apply slightly further in toward the inner corners of your eye because that is how our skin naturally blushes.
Have fun with your eye makeup this season and get inspired by Karl Lagerfeld's glamorous and ornate Czarina-worthy coats.
To compliment the style without competing with it, Monson suggests choosing rich colors including brick red, deep eggplants and aubergines, faded orange and dusty roses.
These shades are romantic and bohemian at the same time and I find that this mix of shades can work on any woman's skin tone.
Accent the shadows with a deep eggplant liner, which adds dimension to any eye color and don't be afraid to line your lower lid with eggplant as well for a softer, dramatic look at night.
Monson says keep the focus on the eyes for this look and go a little more neutral on your lips. For that "just-bitten" effect, try a sheer balm formula with a subtle pink tone.
Monson's lip hint: I like to apply lip balms with a lip brush, you still get the moisturizing benefits of the formula but when you apply with a brush you get slightly more pigment and a very even application. To get the look try these Guerlain products, available at Saks Fifth Avenue and on
