Every fall, year after year and page after page, beauty magazines dish out the latest beauty trends.

Women everywhere strive to get “the look” just right, but haven’t we all seen the dreadful sight of a woman that didn’t quite pull off the latest fad?

In fact, ‘fess up ladies, we’ve all been that “beauty don’t.” This year ensure you’re a “do” and feel great about yourself.

As Beauty Director for Marie Claire magazine, Ying Chu, is the master of beauty “do’s” and strives to help millions of women everywhere look their best and feel great.

Chu shares 4 insider tips and tricks for your daily beauty routines.

Tip #1 How far should you go when trying to achieve the latest fall looks.

Chu says you should always test out the latest trends, to update your look and keep it fresh.

The key to doing this is to always make sure you stick with trends that make you feel comfortable and confident, because that is when you look the best in your own skin.

Tip #2 What are two timeless beauty tips that last

According to Chu, before applying your makeup, use a mattifying primer first.

Because it absorbs oil throughout the day, it prevents oil from breaking down your makeup, making it last longer.

Chu also says you can keep your nails in tip-top shape and extend the life of a manicure or pedicure by adding a clear topcoat to your nails every other day.
This will help avoid chipping as you go about your busy schedule.

Tip #3 What is one major way to save and budget when buying beauty items

Chu says visit your drugstore! There are so many great beauty products that aren’t too expensive and still achieve the look that higher priced beauty items do.

For example, the Crest Plus Scope Outlast toothpaste whitens your teeth because it contains whitening silica that help gently remove surface stains to maintain a bright smile.

In-office bleaching, which can be very expensive, isn’t the only method to get a white smile.

Plus this paste gives you longer lasting fresh breath -- 81% of Marie Claire Velvet Rope Club reader panelists who tried it said their breath felt fresher longer than it has with any other toothpaste they’ve ever used.

Tip #4 Join the Marie Claire Velvet Rope Club?

You will have the opportunity to become a member of the elite Velvet Rope Club if you subscribe to Marie Claire magazine.
