The Phoenix Suns announced that second-year center Robin Lopez will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair a broken fifth metatarsal in his left foot.

The injury occurred during the second half of the club's intrasquad scrimmage Saturday in San Diego. Lopez is expected to be sidelined for 6-to-8 weeks.

The 15th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Lopez averaged 3.2 points and 2.0 rebounds in 60 games last season.
