PHOENIX -- J.R. Rider was known as much for being an NBA Slam Dunk Champion as he was for being an NBA bad boy.

The Bad Boy image continues even though his playing days have been long over.  Rider was arrested in Ahwatukee last Wednesday after the police got a call about a family fight.

Rider was taken into custody after an outstanding felony warrant was found on his record.

Rider has been in and out of jail numerous times since his playing days ended back in the 2001-02 season.

According Yahoo Sports the New Jersey Nets were thinking about giving the 38-year-old one more chance in the NBA by inviting him to training camp.  Rider has reportedly been working out with college guys in the suburbs of Phoenix.
