Kellen McCoy scored a career-high 27 points as Weber State defeated Northern Arizona 70-51 on Thursday night to claim sole possession of the Big Sky Conference regular-season championship.

McCoy shot 10-of-12 from the field for the Wildcats (19-8, 13-1 Big Sky), while Nick Hansen added 11 points.

Shane Jogannsen led Northern Arizona (8-18, 5-10) with 21 points as the Lumberjacks were eliminated from the race to reach the league's postseason tournament, which will be hosted by Weber State.

McCoy scored Weber State's first seven points and 10 of its first 13 as the Wildcats jumped to a 13-3 lead three minutes into the game. Three minutes later, Kyle Bullinger scored five straight points to give the Wildcats a 21-7 lead.

Northern Arizona went on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 26-20 with nine minutes left in the first half, but that was as close as the Lumberjacks would get.

The Wildcats led 33-21 at halftime.
