The Arizona Diamondbacks have given a two-year contract extension to bench coach Kirk Gibson.

Gibson will enter his fourth season as bench coach of the team.

The Diamondbacks also retained two other coaches. Hitting coach Jack Howell and pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre, Jr. will start their first full seasons after assuming their roles on May 8. Bullpen and catching coach Glenn Sherlock, who completed his 12th season with the team and 10th in his current capacity, was offered a contract for the 2010 season.

Meanwhile, first base coach Lorenzo Bundy and third base coach Chip Hale did not have their contracts renewed.
