ESPN reported on Monday that Arizona Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin plans to fire is agent amid stalled attempts to negotiate a new contract or force a trade.
"Regarding Anquan Boldin, let me say that I have great respect for him. I'm hopeful we can work this out and he can return to the Rosenhaus Sports family in the near future." Rosenhaus said in a statement to ESPN.com.
Boldin has two years remaining on a contract Rosenhaus renegotiated in 2005.
Rosenhaus, who currently represents more NFL players than any other agent, claims he recently proposed a contract offer to the Cardinals that would pay Boldin less than $10 million annually.
There has been speculation that Boldin would only accept a deal worth an amount similar to that of Larry Fitzgerald who signed a four-year, $40 million extension in 2008.
"Reports that (Boldin) is seeking a contract worth $10 million per [year] are inaccurate," Rosenhaus said on his Twitter.
Under NFL Player Association rules, a player must wait five days after firing his agent before hiring a new one.
A Cardinals spokesman declined ESPN's request for a comment on Boldin's decision to fire Rosenhaus.
