The Arizona Cardinals Football Club on Tuesday announced the team’s 2009 regular season schedule. For just the second time since 1988, the Cardinals will play at home in week one. The Cardinals will begin the defense of their NFC crown against the San Francisco 49ers at University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday, September 13. The schedule also includes the team’s first-ever appearances on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Al Michaels and John Madden will be in the booth at University of Phoenix Stadium when the Cardinals host Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts on September 27. Four weeks later, the Cards will appear again on Sunday night when they take on the Eli Manning-led Giants at the Meadowlands on October 25. The Cardinals are one of nine teams with multiple appearances on NBC’s Sunday Night Football, joining Chicago, Dallas, Indy, New England, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Tennessee. The team’s third prime time game of the season will be on ESPN’s Monday Night Football against the 49ers at Candlestick Park. After the opener vs. the 49ers, the Cards travel to Jacksonville for the third all-time meeting with the Jaguars. The week three Sunday night match-up with the Colts will mark Indy’s first visit to Arizona since 1990 and just the second all-time. See the full schedule below...
