If there's a recession, you wouldn't know it here today...

50,000 fans all buying food, snacks and souvenirs.

Everybody seems to be having fun and perhaps even enjoying a few hours away from the reality of these tough economic times.

In any case, it's a fun day to be at the ballpark! We'll see how the attendance figures hold up throughout the rest of the month.

2pm

A sell out for the Dbacks and all 50,000 fans are getting their money's worth. A great game with lots of scoring. Probably not a game that your baseball purist would enjoy but for the average, opening day fan, this is awesome!

Here's the game preview

12:50pm

Opening day of the 2009 Diamondbacks season. Lots of fun and lots of people enjoying a day at the ballpark. Many of them coming down with the one-day flu. The Dbacks and Rockies at Chase Field. It doesn't get any bettet than this.

12:15pm

It's opening day for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Can you believe it's already here? The game starts at 12:40pm.. Chase Field.
