TEMPE, AZ -- Last year the Georgia Bulldogs paid a visit to Sun Devil Stadium and left Tempe with a 27-10 win. This time Sun Devils are traveling to Athens, Georgia with a little pay back in mind.
Arizona State opened the season 2-0, granted it was against Idaho State and Louisiana-Monroe but the Sun Devils have looked good.
Here are some keys for the Sun Devils against the Bulldogs:
- Run the ball: If ASU doesn’t want a repeat of last year’s debacle they will have to run the ball effectively. In their last meeting the Bulldogs ran all over the Sun Devils 176-4. But this year Georgia will be without NFL players Knowshon Moreno and Matthew Stafford.
- The Sun Devils can't be intimidated by the SEC foe: ASU’s all time record against the SEC is 0-4 and 3-27 against top 25 teams. The Sun Devils will do their best to erase that trend.
- Watch A.J. Green: If there is one player the ASU defense has to worry about it is All-SEC wide receiver A.J. Green. Last year Green had a career high eight catches for a 159 yards. The Sun Devil secondary will have to find a way to contain Green if they are to be successful against the Bulldogs.
Many, if not all of these questions will be answered on Saturday in the Sun Devils' first real test of the season.
