The Sun Devils need a win over Washington at home to keep their bowl hopes alive and to avoid falling back in the pack in conference play.
Here are 5 keys for the Sun Devils against the Huskies.
- Solid quarterback play from Danny Sullivan. ASU needs to avoid the turnovers that have plagued them in recent weeks. Sullivan threw three interceptions last week against Washington State. Washington is a much better team and Sullivan can't afford to give Jake Locker and company a short field.
- Establish some kind of running game. The Devils would take a lot pressure off Sullivan if the offensive line can open holes for Dimitri Nance.
- Contain Jake Locker. Locker is one of, if not the best dual threat quarterbacks in college football. If the ASU defense can keep the Huskies' Quarterback from making the big play, the Sun Devils can take a big part of the Huskies offense away.
- Slow down the freshman running back. Chris Polk is on pace for a 1,000 yard rushing season. He's a workhorse who gets a lot of touches in Steve Sarkisian's West Coast offense and will test the stingy ASU d who have given up only 1.7 yards a carry.
- Get off to a quick start. The Sun Devils need to start fast in order to keep the home fans off their back. With each home game the Sun Devil faithful have become louder and more disgruntled with the Sullivan and company.
