Sometimes it can seem like a scene out of the movie 'Groundhog Day', we wake up on a Monday morning and look in the closet and say 'I don't have a thing to wear!'

In reality the closet is stuffed, jam packed full of items that will work perfectly together, if only we could think outside of the box to put them together; or remember to put the pieces together in the first place.

The folks at Phoenix Fashion Week share a few tips to help you rediscover what you've already purchased.

Step 1: Purge
1. Pull out everything from your closet because starting with a clean slate is best. To save time, as you pull out your closet contents, put everything into three piles.
  • Spring/summer clothing
  • Fall/Winter Clothing
  • Shoes

2. Go over each piece of clothing and every pair of shoes to decide which ones are good enough to keep. If they fit well and flatter your body, keep them. If you want to give them to charity put them in a separate charity pile. If they are in bad condition put them in the discard pile.

There’s a great charity locally here in town called Helping Hands Arizona that takes gently used clothing and gives them to those in need. Email Phoenix Fashion Week and they can help you make the donation.
