Yes they do - a long way actually . The foreclosure help is a joke . yes a JOKE! So they lower your payments - big deal. You are paying a mortgage or a refi rate at what the house WAS worth which is NOWHERE near what it is worth today. So what if they chop your payment in half and double the length of the mortgage. You are still paying on a loser and if you think the market is going to rebound to the levels of three years ago I have some oceanfront property in Phoenix I would like to sell you.If that is not your bag I have a bridge complete with toll gates in Brooklyn new york.
