1 structure burned, 60 acres charred in Flagstaff-area fire

FLAGSTAFF, AZ – Crews are battling a wildfire that is that has already charred 60 acres and burned one structure north of Flagstaff.

A citizen reported the Potato Fire in the White Horse Hills area, two miles east of the junction of Forest Road 151 and Forest Road 418, at 2:30 a.m. Monday.

That just north of the San Francisco Peaks.

Coconino Forest officials said the fire is moving easterly and approximately 40 personnel, including one dozer, two water tenders, and eight engines, are fighting the flames.

Two structures are threatened and one structure was reportedly burned.

Private properties in the immediate area are not occupied at this time, according to officials.

Some nearby campers have been asked to leave and Forest Road 418 has been closed to public use.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
