SURPRISE, AZ -- When it comes to elaborate Halloween houses, Don Sosnowski takes the cake.
Outside the Surprise home is an elaborate Halloween display.
The home is located near Grand Avenue and Bell Road on Lupine Trail.
It takes up the entire front and back yards.
The Sosnowskis spend around $5000 in upgrades each year, and there are currently about $40,000 worth of items out there.
There is everything from ghosts and goblins, to scary characters like Hannibal Lector.
Don says the electricity bill can run as high as $1,000 some months.
Even in these tough economic times Don still puts up the display to bring joy to the neighborhood.
"It's exciting to see the kids smile," said Don. "They don't have a lot to look forward to anymore so we do it for the kids."
Most say Don's house is worth checking out.
Don doesn't charge a fee, and even offers free hotdogs and treats on Halloween night.
