SURPRISE, AZ -- Police have arrested a man for trying to rob a northwest Valley pharmacy earlier this month.
Anthony Fontana, 18, of Surprise, was arrested on Monday morning, according to Surprise Police Sgt. Mark Ortega.
Surprise police said that on November 3, around 3:45 p.m., the armed robber went into the pharmacy at a CVS located near Greenway and Litchfield roads, demanding that the clerk "give me something."
Police released surveillance video of the robbery
Police say the clerk refused and the suspect fled from the store on foot into a residential area to the south.
After surveillance footage of the robbery was released, police received numerous tips, leading them to Fontana, Ortega said.
When he as taken to the Surprise Police Department for questioning, Fontana apparently admitted to the crime, according to police.
Fontana was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on a charge of armed robbery.
