SURPRISE, AZ -- Police arrested a 38-year-old man after officers found dozens of marijuana plants growing in the bedroom of a Surprise home Friday.

Surprise Police Sgt. Mark Ortega said officers were called to the home near Reems and Cactus roads around 12:30 a.m.

While investigating, police found over 50 plants being grown in a bedroom.

Detectives served a search warrant on the home and found plants in various stages of growth with a lighting and temperature control system, Ortega said.

Christopher Petruzzelli was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail on suspicion of production of marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and domestic violence charges.
