SUN CITY, AZ - This month the Sun City Posse is sending out a color brochure from the community action group PETS (Pets Emergency Temporary Solutions) with information targeting the senior based community.
PETS is urging seniors to take time to read the brochure and make the required arrangements for their pet. It is crucial the animals that are such an important part of seniors lives are not left adrift when and if something happens to its owner.
PETS recommends every pet owner, family member or neighbor make sure a Free Pet Vial of Life is available to emergency responders should the need arise. The vials are provided by the Best Friends Dog Club and are available at several locations throughout Sun City listed on the brochure.
PETS is a community action group and their main focus is to educate pet owners to make arrangements for the need before it arises. Who will care for them in the absence of the owner? Are they healthy and up to date on vaccinations? If this information is not available to emergency responders the only resource is Maricopa County. PETS warns that is not a desirable destination for any beloved pet.
PETS is also organizing a group of foster homes who may care for some pets on an emergency basis only not to exceed 72 hours. Only healthy, vaccinated and well mannered pets can be accepted for placement through emergency responders.
Volunteers are needed as foster parents for this community project as well as helping to educate the public. If your interested please contact Jan Sniderman at 623-933-7907 or Skelli Dedmon at 623-261-5502 or email
