SUN CITY, AZ – Officials are searching for three suspects after a man was shot in the West Valley Friday morning.
According to Doug Matteson with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, three men knocked on the door of a home near the Loop 303 and 117th Avenue shortly after 5 a.m.
A 30-year-old male opened the door and a verbal argument reportedly occurred.
As the three men were leaving, Matteson said multiple shots were fired into the door.
The 30-year-old was shot twice in the side and was reportedly flown to John C. Lincoln hospital.
He is currently in critical condition.
Susan Merlino who lives across the street didn't hear anything. "I didn't even know there was a shooting. It's sad, especially in this neighborhood."
Matteson said the three men left the area; however, there isn't any word on their identification or a vehicle description.
There were children inside of the home at the time of the shooting, but they were not injured, according to Matteson.
