Only 28 years? What a rip-off. I'd think a man who had gone out of his way to commit so heinous an act against someone who stopped to help has certainly put out the extra effort and put so much of himself into his work that he well deserves fair pay. They should get one of those fancy special occasion envelopes and stuff a bonus of say 45 more years into it, then give it to him as a surprise.

28 years is not long enough. Only death, in my book, is 'long enough' for these types of sub-humans.

I was part of the Honor Guard detail from Luke AFB for his burial and I will never forget it. RIP Mr. Staats. I hope the Staats family has some peace and closure now that this chapter is over.

Its so much more profitable to give life in prison, how else can the officials skim money out of the state prison budgets for maintaining his life, its way too juicy not too. Death is too economical and cheap, pull the switch and poof! he's fried, just a bit of a hike on the electric bill per each time.
